Benjamin Zev is a proud graduate of a College of Engineering and Mathematical Sciences. He maintains his Bachelor of Science (B.S.) and Master of Science (M.S.) degrees in Electrical Engineering and Environmental Engineering. Zev reflects on his days of studying fondly, recalling passionate political and social displays on the campus. Often joined arm-in-arm with his fellow classmates at rallies, protests and other events, Zev developed key components of himself and his identity during his research and studies. His collegiate experience provided a safe-haven for visionaries emboldened by their ideas. During his research and education in the College of Engineering and Mathematical Sciences, Zev realized the importance of energy efficiency in environmental protection and sustainability.
It was during the pursuit of his Bachelor of Science (B.S.) and Master of Science (M.S.) degrees that Benjamin Zev realized the inherent need for sustainable building practices. Alongside his classmates, Zev fought for sustainability in the way of affordable housing, access to essential resources and care and environmental protection. His senior project thesis centered around sustainability in real estate. Researching multi-family properties, apartments and student dormitories in the campus area, Zev drew conclusions on how to best tackle the energy efficiency conversation. Today, his research and education continues to impact his work as an Environmental Engineer.
